Tra gli oggetti che accompagnano la nostra vita e il nostro corpo il gioiello è uno dei più immobili: le tecniche produttive e i materiali sono gli stessi del passato, come pure le forme e le tipologie. La fine delle ideologie e l'ibridazione dei contesti del Novecento hanno radicalmente modificato la percezione e il senso del gioiello, favorendo quella liquidità semantica, materica e valoriale che è caratteristica della contemporaneità. Dai frammenti del presente si scorgono squarci di futuro, dove i nuovi materiali e le nuove tecnologie avranno un ruolo determinante per l'innovazione del settore orafo. Questo libro presenta i materiali e le tecnologie più innovative e tratteggia i futuri del gioiello secondo tre scenari: la tradizione preziosa, la creatività collettiva e le wearables technologies. The jewel is one of the most immobile of the objects that accompany our lives and bodies: the production techniques and the materials are the same as in the past, as are the forms and types. The end of ideologies and the hybridisation of contexts in the 20th-century radically altered the perception and meaning of the jewel, encouraging the semantic, material and value liquidity that is a characteristic of the contemporary. Hints of the future can be glimpsed from the fragments of the present, where new materials and new technologies will play a decisive role in the innovation of the jewellery sector. This book presents the most innovative materials and technologies and sketches the futures of the jewel according to three scenarios: precious tradition, collective creativity and wearable technologies.
