PP.80, 1° ed.

On November 12, 2019, Venice was flooded by an exceptionally high tide that unfortunately did grave damage to much of the city’s artistic heritage. Immediately after the acqua granda, Venetian Heritagelaunched the campaign #supportvenice with the aim of raising funds to finance urgent interventions to restore some of the works of art affected by the flooding, including the restoration of the wooden Crucifix embellished with sheets of tortoiseshell and mother of pearl that was carved by Giuseppe Torretti sometime around 1711 and is located in the church of San Moisé. A year after the acqua granda Giuseppe Torretti’s restored masterpiece of carving represents a Venice that refuses to surrender and is determined to rise again.
